CONCERNED ABOUT CAMPAIGN FINANCE & Citizens United ?

Here’s our Campaign’s Un-Precedented Approach ( 2 parts )

We're going to work – very hard - free avenues of messaging, connecting, and outreach. In a field crowded with multi-million dollar candidates, we want to PROVE that a really well-run campaign can be competitive, while spending only a small fraction of the profligate competitors, by relying much more heavily on new & free media, rather than wasting piles of donors' contributions on increasingly irrelevant "old" media.

Such a "new media" campaign will heed the words of Thomas Jefferson :

" I am sure we are wiser than our fathers & that our sons and daughters will be wiser than we are." ​

(You will show us old folks how to use "new" media most powerfully, how to really "go viral", and who knows how much more you’ll teach us?)

Once elected, my Congressional Office will be the first to implement "The Guest Constituent" program. ( read more about it, here ) Every day, three constituents - one Independent, one Democrat, and one Republican - all of whom, by virtue of being taxpayers, are in truth "my employers", who have a right to see what their employee (me) is doing - these three Constituents (a new crew daily, or individuals may serve for up to five consecutive days) will observe, advise, give counsel, as any boss would their employee.

This will guarantee accountability and transparency despite Congress' self-exemption from the full disclosure/open public records law, FOIA.

This program will also provide an opportunity for Constituents of differing views to begin relationships with one another over the course of an 8 – 40 hour stint in my office, and they’ll begin to understand one another better, and dial down the partisan hostility that feeds our increasing movement towards extremism, both Left and Right.

The Guest Constituent Program , will also allow the Member of Congress to stop spending three hours per day, "Dialing for Dollars". If you need buckets of money to get re-elected in gerrymandered Maryland, even after 1,500 constituents have directly observed you at work over the course of two years, then you must be a really lousy Member, and you deserve to be GONE.​

We'll make actual job performance - directly observed - the key to re-election, and money-raising skill will become a non-issue.

One solution to Citizens United ? Do such an open and honest and effective job for “your employers” - the voters - that you don't need to spend millions$ on slick TV ads, and fancy campaign consultants and "spin" to win re-election.

Attn Other Candidates: Don't like money in politics? Then find a way to get elected, and re-elected honestly.

Hate Citizens United? Then don't raise and spend vast sums of money. Just do your job !
