In 2012, with my wife, Harriet, I attended a DC fund raiser in support of marriage equality in Maryland.

The featured speaker was Maryland Delegate (D)-19th , Bonnie Cullison, along with her partner, Marcia.

Bonnie posed a question to all of us:

“Why do you think gay people want marriage equality?”

The responses :  Legal reasons ? Social Security?  Visitation rights during hospitalization?

Bonnie did not contradict those answers.  As I remember, she ignored them.

“Because we love each other:”.

Just like the rest of us married folks, whomever it is we love.
